What I learned from looking at other Genius hours/20 Time is that I can go about my project in a different way because now I have another example to go off of. In the other blog posts I can see how much time that some people are putting into these projects. Some projects have been being worked on since at least 2012 and they're still pursuing it.
What I have learned I can use in my own way that I can put a lot more time into this than I have been. after looking at all the other examples and how much that they did put into their Genuis hour/20 time that I can do a lot more into mine as well. Just looking at the other ones showed me how serious this project can get and I also want to persue that. The progress that I still need to do on my Genuis Hour is that I need to still look up more information on it and start the actual project thst I want to do. I need to look out and see what I can do out if school to help my project. The ideas about presentation that Sir Ken Robinson presented in his education talk is that he was very calm with what he did. He also made sure that he was interacting with the people that he was talking to. He also made sure not to be serious the whole time but made sure that his point were strong.
From what I saw from Sir Ken Robinson, what I can put into my TED talk is that not to be too serious the whole time but to make sure that my points that I would like to tell are out there. To make sure to incorporate all of my resources that I have into my TED talk. If you had an unlimited amount of time and funds to make your Genius Project all it could be, what would it look like?If I had all that I needed to, to make my Genius Project all that it could be it would look a lot more "homie" then the other brain places. I would want the people that are participating in it to feel that they are at home then in a place that they're just getting medical help for. I want them to come in and be happy that they are here instead of them walking in and hating that they are there.
For the building purposes it would be more appealing to a kid than an adult would see. It would be a bright and fun environment that wouldn't have any bad vibes in it.
The thing that excites me most about the genius hour project is that learning about something that I actually think is interesting. For me it is learning about the brain and how it works everything in our body. The brain is just one organ and it controls our whole body and everything in our body. For me, I think that is so amazing how this organ in our heads makes us think and on the other side lets us breathe.
What concerns me most about my genius hour project is that how many things that we can do to damage our brain. For example, getting a concussion hurts your brain on a level that could be harmful. Also like how getting paralyzed can trick your brain so that it can't "talk" to the rest of your body. There is so many things that we do today that can in the long run damage our brain to the point of it not being able to get better. Like smoking can kill brain cells. What I don't get is that we know that something that we do are going to hurt our brain, but how come our brain doesn't protect itself by doing something to not let us hurt it?
As of right now I haven't made too much progress into my project since this was one of the first times that we have been looking and doing this. I already know some stuff about the brain from my Health Occupations class last year but what i can say that i haven't really looked for stuff or information for this yet. |
